Horse Power the working horses of Mackinac Island, July 1-31, 2006

Horse Power celebrates the strength and beauty of the horses that help to sustain the unique splendor of Mackinac Island. Elizabeth Pollie created this series of paintings as an homage to the working horses found on the island.

The show will be on display June 30th through July 31st. An opening reception will take place at the Mackinac Public Library on Thursday, June 29th from 4:00 to 6:00. The library is adjacent to the Iroquois Hotel. The public is welcome.

The artist will be present and the paintings will be for sale.

Best and the Brightest 2006, 1st Place Award art
Elizabeth Pollie was awarded 1st place in the Professional category in the 2006 Best and Brightest Show at the Scottsdale Artists School. The winning painting is entitled "Mr. Sing's Window".

This piece is one from the artists’ new series depicting the Asian communities found throughout America.

West Wind Atelier features the paintings of Elizabeth Pollie. These fine oil paintings include both plein air and studio work from a variety of locales
including Mackinac Island, Harbor Springs, Santa Fe, Morocco and Spain. Plein air workshops are offered during the summer.
